• If you're based in the UK, please be aware that certain catio designs may require planning permission. Factors such as the size and height of the structure, its location on the property (for example, in a front garden or close to neighbouring boundaries), whether the property is listed, and whether it falls within a conservation area can all influence whether permission is needed.

  While I am happy to offer general guidance based on my experience and will raise any concerns if I believe a proposed design could require further consideration, I am not a planning specialist and cannot provide formal advice regarding planning regulations.

  It is the customer's responsibility to determine whether planning permission, building consent, landlord approval, or any other permissions are required before work begins. I do not request permissions, and BoyBespoke Catios accepts no responsibility for obtaining them on the customer's behalf.

  As a general rule, I design and build catios to be practical, sympathetic to the property, and within what would commonly be considered reasonable domestic structures. However, if I feel that a particular design, height, or location may present a planning concern, I will always recommend that the customer contacts their local planning authority for clarification before proceeding.
